The art of the demo

Magnolia Design Center showrooms offer a wonderland of audio, video and home automation products that you can actually see, feel and experience firsthand. Few people are more passionate about this space than Magnolia Territory Director Mario Hernandez. He has a special ability to help customers feel the excitement he feels for all of this amazing stuff. We recently sat down with Mario to discuss his passions and how he extends them to all those around him. Here’s what he had to say.

Mario Hernandez,
Magnolia Territory Director

M: Where does your passion for Magnolia come from? What do you like most about Magnolia?

Mario: First, I would change the word like to love. I love Magnolia. I’m passionate about the products we have—I love music. Being able to offer some of the coolest products we have in our company—I think it’s awesome. When I’m in our showroom space, doing demos, I sometimes forget I’m in a store, that’s how much I love what I’m doing.

M: How does this showroom environment help you extend that love?

Mario: Within this space, we’re able to show the customer what really makes Magnolia unique. One of my favorite ways to do that is with our family room environment. At first glance, it’s very similar to most family rooms across the U.S. But with the push of a button, we are able to lower the projector and transition the room into something really special. While the projector is coming down, we adjust the lighting, window shades, and show customers how easy it all is to control.

It’s fun to sit down with customers, to experience it with them and share our excitement with their excitement. For some, this is the coolest thing they’ll see all week, maybe all month. When you put the iPad in their hand, you see their passion for this space come alive.

M: What separates this space from any other in the industry?

Mario: The biggest difference is our people, how we make a personal connection to our customers. Our System Designers have a fire inside them. They’re able to show the investment we made in them and in this space, demonstrating to our customers that there’s no project too big or too small that we can’t handle. That all starts with the demos we do in these showrooms.
